Space: 1999 had a ludicrous premise. But I always enjoyed watching it as a kid.

I always dug the Eagle fighters and their utilitarian purpose for both fighting and transport duties. I took a model kit and put all sorts of spare decals from aircraft models to make EL LOBO II.

The sound effects on Space 1999 were excellent.

Done on a Moog synthesizer, they added exactly the right element.

They can be found online here: http://moonbase99.space1999.net/sound.htm

There was a Japanese cartoon when I was a kid about a battleship in space. Only saw a few of them. Not sure why this tread made me think of that. Don’t know the name of it but would have been early 1970s.
