Big deal I haven’t purchased from either of them in over 15 years.

You can negotiate with Sears.

They sell Kenmore which is involved with many brands.

Give it a go.

K-Mart and Sears are going under.

They have NO business model and Sears sold their brand to Stanley / B&D. Those warranties are useless.

It is just upper management cleaning off the books.

I had a Sears 5 minutes away. Now gone! I restore old Pedal steel guitars, and could always find the right fasteners, etc., at Sears. Bummer!

In the same vein Kenmore will continue on.

The big Sears on the West Side of Cleveland had a big scratch and dent center in the basement. Bought washer, dryer, and fridge there 25/30 years ago. Saved a bunch of moola! All still going strong.

Might as well keep buying fasteners there.

While you can!

Macy’s current stock price is $31.99. Their all-time high was $78.19 in May 2006. They plunged all the way to $5.73 in November 2008 but rallied back to $72.31 by July 2015. From that point it plunged to its current price.

"Some of the older clerks won’t (or can’t) help you order from the store’s computer... either too lazy or didn’t want to bother learning how..."

"Sheen-bro" [English translation: "Machine is broken"] is the standard Ebonic excuse for any difficult or mildly complicated task. Just try to order ice cream at any "diverse" McDonald's and you'll have 80% odds that the machine will be "broken" or otherwise out of order. On the other hand, go to any Chick-fil-A for the world's best milkshake -- and you'll get it. What's the difference? Selective hiring and a corporate culture that instills, reinforces and rewards a solid work ethic.

“Might as well keep buying fasteners there.”

I only do a couple guitars a year. Gotta ‘73 D-10 in pieces on my bench. Already got everything I need for that one. It’s a time-consuming hobby, sort of,,,,,

LOL. I remember being a pre-teen and teen and being mortified if I had to walk into a Sears or worse, a Kmart, with my mother.

The Sears in our mall had more than half its floor space converted to a Whole Foods.

Try an Ace hardware or Rural King. Both have a huge selection of fasteners.

Sears Executive: “Okay, our sales are plummeting. We are closing stores by the hundreds. What can we do!”

KMart Executive: “PISS OFF HALF OUR BASE!”

Sears Executive: “BRILLIANT!!!”

Big deal, they are both on their last legs. Nobody probably bought the items as the class of folks that patronize their retail outlets probably can’t afford them anyway.

I don’t shop at either Sears or K-Mart.

Their stuff is nothing but over priced crap.

Sears also owns Land’s End, which I used to shop at but not any more.

Too bad cause Land’s End was terrific stuff before Sears bought it.

It’s LL Bean for me now.
