But, despite the anti-glutton movement, some grains in the diet are fine. There were a number of non-sugar coated cereals from Kellogg’s that I liked.
But, like others here, I began finding substitutes due to their politicizing.
As to consumers getting educated, I would say that an even bigger impact is the advent of free school breakfasts and lunches. Parents in many places are too lazy to even get up and open a box of cereal and milk for their kids in the morning. Let the nanny state and taxpayers do it. There’s a whole huge industry now for free breakfasts, lunches, and in some places dinners and weekend school feeds.
The market is shrinking for extruded flour pulp.
What is absolutely HYSTERICAL is that these companies convinced the government to state “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day” - with absolutely NOTHING to back that up.
Thankfully, I never bought that garbage and thus my kids are growing up as good conservatives.
The protein in Luna bars comes from soy. Soy has multiple estrogenic and steroidal compounds in it (but not actual “estrogen”). Japanese men who ate more soybeans were shown to have a higher rate of severe mental disease. Women do not get this problem, but can have greater feminine characteristics, and can start puberty earlier.
My wife and I stay away from soy products.
Cereal only makes me hungry...even oatmeal...I’m sure as others have said...carbs for some are a poor food.
I was amazed to discover how many GMO ingredients are used in the various cereals and carbo snacks, etc. And I have taken action to remove them from my pantry.
We did the same. I was on a trip and stayed overnight at a hotel. Tried Malt-O-Meal equivalent of frosted flakes and fruit loops and they were as good if not better at a lower price.
The only thing I don’t think they quite match are Frosted Mini-Wheats and Corn Pops.
But I have to cut my consumption down anyway. I’m trying to reduce carbs and refined stuff and go for more protein.
Nature doesn’t call. Nature serves a no-knock warrant.
“I think dry cereal consumption has been on a downward trajectory already.”
I usually eat yogurt for breakfast. Cereal is not a snack from time to time.
CHODE!
well...u tell it like it is
We stopped buying anything of Kellogg’s. Used to spend quite a bit on their protein drinks and bars. Surprisingly, we found better tasting replacements with equal or superior nutrients. The Lord works in mysterious ways.
In a lot of ways me too.
I miss Quinn Martin shows in general.

That’s a new one to me.
I will have to try it.
Most days I mix chia seeds, maca powder, and some tang for some flavor and it seems to help.
I need to get some more seeds.
I recently dumped Kellogg’s. I now buy at Aldi’s - don’t know who makes their store brand cereal, but I like it and it is 50% of the cost.
And ironically (because they were founded on the premise of selling healthy cereals) a lot of their healthier cereals are either hard to find or discontinued-Pep, Concentrate, Krumbles, Product 19...
Loved Concentrate
