I can't imagine there being a legitimate reason to exclude him.

It reminds me of the baseball writers' animus towards Albert Belle. But in the latter case, you could actually make a valid argument against him-based on his stats.

The thing that baffled me about Albert Belle was that he came from a good family (responsible married parents) and had a good upbringing, yet conducted himself like the worst ghetto trash.

Still, he’s the only player to have 50 doubles and 50 homers in the same season, and in a strike-shortened season at that.
