While I think Trump might have been able to be a bit more thoughtful and maybe consulted more people - that all takes time. The other thing to remember - it is a short-term, TEMPORARY ban. 90 days for most of the people. I just hope that 90 days is long enough to get the vetting back up to speed. I’m guessing they have years of data and there are folks within the system that have been complaining and have some fixes to the system that can be implemented quickly.
I think Trump’s intent was to follow through on his promise in short order. If it’s a threat, every hour counts. If it’s not, then why take the action at all.
You make a good point about the 90 days.
I honestly don’t know how they vet these folks. How can we prove anything?
At any rate, I suspect we’ll look back on this later and realize it was much about nothing.
