People going into a bar a 3:00 am?

What, did they just fly in from 5 time zones away?

In some cases yes. You meet people from all over in the quarter. I'm old now but a lot of the bars sell good food and there are always places open to get real good or fast food. We used to go from bar to bar all night and into the morning dawn. But we always ate and drank water while we did it. We also stayed aware of our surroundings. We might go to 20 or more bars in a night easy.

Last time I was there at 3am we were just getting warmed up. We left the hotel at 11:30. Thing with Bourbon Street is like all cities. Stay on well lit streets with a lot of people and there will not be a problem. Veer off onto a side street and you become a target.
