Hollywood and the world paid tribute to the late, great Mary Tyler Moore Wednesday, citing her inspirational talent and personal warmth.
The television legend passed away on Wednesday at 80 years old from diabetes complications.
Her long-time Mary Tyler Moore Show co-star Ed Asner tweeted a tribute to #marytylermoore and added, my heart goes out to you and your family. Know that I love you and believe in your strength.
Larry King called Moore a dear friend and a truly great person. A fighter. Rest in peace, MTM, the talk show host wrote.
Moore will be forever linked to CBS first for her run on the Dick Van Dyke Show which pumped out 158 episodes between 1961 and 1968; and then on MTM which produced 168 shows from 1970 to 1977.
Mary Tyler Moore was a once-in-a-generation talent, CBS chairman Leslie Moonves said in a statement. She will be long remembered as a gifted actress, television pioneer and a role model to so many. CBS has lost one of the very best to ever grace our airwaves and our industry has lost a true legend and friend.

She will be missed. I have already been missing the kind of shows that she starred in for years. It is amazing what entertainers can do when they focus on being entertaining, rather than preaching or being political.
God, she was a cutie. She just had this librarian, understated hotness to her. Very beautiful woman.
There will never be another MTM, nor will there ever be a crazier dress than that one!

Saw ed asner and hal holbrook on an episode of Bones playing nursing home people this month. Ed played the scammer. Hal played the killer. Sorry if that is a spoiler
