Michael Jackson's blonde, blue-eyed daughter, Paris, who looks even more Caucasian than most Caucasians, declares that she is an African-American:

"I consider myself black," she says, adding later that her dad "would look me in the eyes and he'd point his finger at me and he'd be like, 'You're black. Be proud of your roots.' And I'd be like, 'OK, he's my dad, why would he lie to me?' So I just believe what he told me. 'Cause, to my knowledge, he's never lied to me.

"Most people that don't know me call me white," Paris concedes. ..."I look like I was born in Finland or something."

When you are in some way adopted, but your parent(s) are of another race, I think identity does get a bit confused. You might BE one ethnicity but definitely connect more to another. I don’t have a problem with that.

I believe that would be a common situation for anyone with parents of a different ethnicity. It’s ok. Her father was basically murdered when she was young. Give her a huge break.

My daughter has some different ethnicity from me. I hope she feels good about herself and her importance in the world, and takes an interest in my ancestors and hers.

This is NOTHING like Rachel Dolezal. Paris has been raised by African Americans exclusively. I understand.

I actually don't mind seeing weird junk like this - as long as it's not in the news section. It's a reminder that Hollywood is filled with self absorbed strange people who live very strange lives. Most of these people I've never heard of. I never knew Michael Jackson had a daughter. Poor kid. I hope she wasn't molested.

I and many other adoptive parents here on FR would like to shame you.

One’s parents are one’s parents. They raised you. Genetics is not important to that fact.

PLEASE DONT PRETEND, FREEPERS, TO BE PRO LIFE if you are anti adoption. Just shut up. Unwanted babies will be born. The world will always need adoptive parents who care more about the love for the children than whether their race matches.

For whatever reason, michael didn’t use his own genetics. I don’t think highly of the guy, but he was her father. To claim he wasn’t is to claim all adoptive parents aren’t the real parents and that is dead wrong.
