Thank you everybody for all the leads and suggestions. I relented, went to town this morning and purchased $12 set of Logitech speakers from Walmart. The external speakers that I looked at have built in drivers and do not care what operating system they tap into. There are some that hook to the USB port and others to the microphone port.
Woo! Hoo! I can listen to the Trump speeches and music again! Thanks again for taking the time to educate me. I will upgrade the speakers at another time. Thanks again!
Great. Sounds like you just blew out the internal speaker.
This is probably not the right place to get tech support. Your PC maker’s tech support area is the better place.
Have you tried turning it off and on again?
And if that does work, dial 0118 999 881 99 9119 725..............3.
Evidently, there’s not a problem with your sound chip, unless the speakers have a built-in USB Audio Codec. When you plugged in the speaker, did you notice whether or not any drivers were automatically installed?
What kind of computer do you have (model/brand)?
Yay!!!!
Now you can *hear* Trump making America great again!!
Ah, it’s the details. I assumed the analog port (headphone jack) vs the USB digital port.
Glad you got it resolved. Sounds like a hardware issue and not a software issue.
There is one easy to try fix that works much of the time and that’s to uninstall the sound driver, restart the system, and let it reinstall it, but that would be a software issue which it does not appear to be in your case.
Again; glad you got it resolved.
Glad we could be of help!
Practically everything is near me but I still shop on-line because I DETEST shopping.
.
No drivers were installed, though I was looking for them.
My computer is an Acer Aspire E-15. I picked it up last summer because it was about the only new laptop I could find with windows 7.
I hate shopping too. Wading through all the stuff is an incredible waste of time. And I don’t like parking lots. There are a lot of bad drivers in parking lots.
