LIVE OAK, Texas (KABB/WOAI) A Good Samaritan was shot and killed trying to stop a robbery. Two armed men attempted to rob Kay Jewelers in Rolling Oaks Mall just after 3:30 p.m. Sunday. An unarmed man attempted to stop the robbery and was shot and killed. A second man pulled out his concealed weapon and shot one of the suspects. The second suspect fled the scene, shooting as he ran. Their conditions have not been released. The second suspect is still on the run.

1 dead, 6 injured, 1 suspect captured - 1 suspect on the run. Police looking for information.
I used to shop there all the time.
Like most malls, the ‘undesirable’ element has taken over.
prayers to that man's family... but why
The fake-news-MSM will be loving this one.
Unarmed, get the heck out of the way. Don’t get involved.
“An unarmed man attempted to stop the robbery and was shot and killed.”
Don’t remember if Rolling Oaks is a no-carry mall. But if an unarmed person tried to stop the robbery, this being San Antonio, he was probably military.
At least both will be tried for murder.
Yeah, speaking as a defenseless NYer, if I was IN the store with my wife, thought this guy was ready to use his gun, and there was only ONE, I would go for it.
Otherwise, the only part of me that would be seen is my sneaker marks.
Horrible about the unarmed man getting killed. Sounds like somebody started shooting wildly judging by the 6 injured, unless that’s just flying glass. Glad the armed person was apparently able to do some good.
Few details in the story, have to wait for more updates.
If the other suspect actually gets caught. Unfortunately, San Antonio had a big surge in murders last year, many of which remain unsolved. The local police department has a growing cold-case backlog.
I believe that Rolling Oaks Mall is a Simon Mall property.
Possession of any weapon at Simon malls, whether concealed or displayed openly, is in violation of mall policy. This policy is intended first and foremost to maintain a safe, secure and comfortable environment at our malls, which has always been our top priority, and to avoid any situation that could potentially place at risk the safety of our shoppers and employees.”
I know this will devolve into a discussion of tactics, etc. But the bottom line, is that a brave Texan dove straight in and fought, and lost his life. Another one pulled a pistol and also resisted.
He’s as much a hero as anyone who ever fought Santa Anna. To dive in like that. God accept his Texan spirit.
I have an outdoor mall I will go to, another mall I loved in Memphis became crime central. Losing your life for some clothes and other things.....not worth it. My friend says no one will go to events in Memphis w/ her due to the high crime. Sad that people have ruined simple pleasures for law abiding people.
rotten news. I hate to see a good guy die. At least he tried.
“At least both will be tried for murder.”
The second shooter was, according to eavesdroppers on the police band, a Hispanic male wearing a black sweatshirt and jeans.
It will be hard to find him, especially if returns to south of the border.
Amen
“That’s right, if somebody pulled a knife on you, and you can’t pull out nuthin’ but a hand with some skin on it, your intelligence ought to tell you to...Run! But people be watchin’ Kojak too much; they think they have to be [singing] “Macho Man! I’ll take that knife and shove it up your a—!”
“I’m Macho Man!”
You go from Macho Man to [singing] ‘Dead Person!”

I agre. Prayers for him and his family.
But what is it with malls? Creeps have taken them over.
Shopping malls, like public swimming pools, are a manifestation of a fairly cohesive civil culture, with the concept of a "social contract" that is accepted by all but a very tiny minority, "tiny" meaning something like one or two tenths of a percent.
If that percentage rises to two or three percent, things like shopping malls and public swimming pools go out the window.
