Don't mess with CNN. That's the unvarnished version of a message that the network's president, Jeff Zucker, delivered to President-elect Donald Trump in an interview published on Thursday by New York magazine.
"One of the things I think this administration hasn’t figured out yet is that there’s only one television network that is seen in Beijing, Moscow, Seoul, Tokyo, Pyongyang, Baghdad, Tehran and Damascus — and that’s CNN," Zucker said. "The perception of Donald Trump in capitals around the world is shaped, in many ways, by CNN. Continuing to have an adversarial relationship with that network is a mistake."

This is true - abroad CNN is the American BBC.
But, I think, this can be changed.
And CNN could start reforming itself by reporting actual news.
Trump can work to help break CNN's monopoly on foreign coverage broadcasting... that should be a priority of his.
CNN is one of the reasons I dropped cable years ago. Plus the fact that paying money to watch commercials just didn’t compute with me.
Hollywood, entertainers threatening other entertainers, leftist news media, no-show congressmen, street demonstrators, the usual race pimps.....
They might all have their 5 or 10 minutes of fame but the United States president holds all the high cards.
And in less than 24 hours that president will be the man they are dis-respecting.

Does Pyongyang have TV that’s not government controlled? I’m not sure I would brag about having a cable news show in North Korea.
CNN would be good as a communist propaganda news channel. That seems to be there role here in the U.S.
And Eason Jordan divulged that he covered up atrocities by Saddam Hussein in order to maintain their bureau in Baghdad.
The question is not how CNN portrays "the perception of Donald Trump in capitals around the world," it is how CNN is portraying China, Russia, the Koreas, Iraq, Iran, and Syria to Americans.

They don’t broadcast, in the traditional sense of the word. They are cable only, and not governed by the FCC the same as an over-the-airwaves station

Funny stuff. Trump probably realizes that CNN is more likely to be an agent of whatever countries he mentioned. They don’t even try to be objective anymore, but are firmly on the side of all our enemies.
In the interview Zucker never spoke about the quality of the coverage. He only said that his reporters try to ignore the criticism they receive. He never even suggested that they were trying to be accurate and balanced.
He never addressed the reasons for Trump’s disdain for CNN.
