They’ll be a lot of folks from LA making the trip to Las Vegas for their games.

When they come to LA to play the Chargers, it will be 90% Raiders fans in the stands.

Gonna be a Raiders fan now. I’ll have to frequently travel to Vegas to support my team!

I don’t care about the NFL anymore but it seems to me that this move is damaging the NFL brand even more. The Raiders have always been attractive to people aligned with the gang culture. It was good news for LA when the Raiders left for the return trip to Oakland years ago. The NFL in Las Vegas is problematical enough. Now add an emphasis on gang culture and its going to lead to trouble soon.

I feel sorry for loyal Oakland fans, but mobility is at the root of capitalism

If it was about capitalism they'd be paying to build their own stadium.

This is about extortion.

That’s not why they left LA. Attendance was better in LA then it was in Oakland. Not getting a new stadium drove them out.

Exactly. I don’t need a government subsidy to buy stock in Amazon. I figure it’s a good investment, so I dig into my own pocket, I put down my own money, I invest in Amazon, and down the road, I expect to reap a reward.

Football COULD be like that, except the investment in a new stadium is seen (by Football owners) as a very risky investment. Pay for that?? They’ll lose their shirt!!! So, instead, the extort local politicians and say, “Hey, invest in us — think of the huge profits you will surely reap!! Or else we will leave and someone else will reap enormous profits!”

It’s amazing anyone falls for this.

Why don’t these owners build their own damn stadiums?

Some do, like Jerry Jones and Dan Snyder and others.

If they can do it, all can do it!...............

“Las Vegas Raiders/Just doesn’t sound right.”

It’s not horrific. But it’s sad that they’re leaving CA.

But, they have billion$ of reasons why...

The Las Vegas Harry Reids.

Well, their logo features a thief with an eye patch, so that would work.

It's the NFL. Las Vegas Strippers. Or Las Vegas Bunny Ranchers?

This is about extortion...

True, but PPPs are how most stadiums and arenas get built. The Chargers move is more disturbing than the Faiders.
