Barbara and I are so sorry we cant be there for your Inauguration on January 20th, the former president wrote in a note dated Jan. 10. My doctor says if I sit outside in January, it will likely put me six feet under. Same for Barbara. So I guess were stuck in Texas.
I want you to know that I wish you the very best as you begin this incredible journey of leading our great country, he continued. If I can ever be of help, please let me know.

I’m going to laugh when W stays in TX because of his father’s condition...and the only former presidents attending are all . . . democrats.
When I grow old I shall wear purple read by its author Jenny Joseph.
(If you listen to the youtube, beware, the next "poet" in the queue is the dreadful Maya Angelou, aka Marguerite Johnson - who iirc read an inauguration poem for BJClinton.)
I hope he lives as long as he can or wants to. He’ll be born into the next mess soon enough.
I hear Barbara Bush is in hospital too???
Yes..if only I could have had parents like them..
Just last til Tue.so as not to interfere with Inauguration Day, and Trumps first work day on Monday. Then move along. Take the rest of your lousy family with ya. To Hell with Warmonger Neo-Cons, and Globalists.
Horrible President. 1 term. Gave us Clinton.
The wall coming Down, and the rejuvenation of our economy in the 90’s had nothin to do with Bush 1, and Clinton. These were ALL building blocks that Reagan created.
Deal with it.
A classy man and a brave one. At 92 a statement like this is spitting in death’s eye.
Perfect. Sounds a lot like me. >:)
At some point in your elderly life, you realize you have *nothing left to lose*. Frequently, I practice that. Fortunately my family tolerates me. If it’s rusty, vintage, shows age...I’m attracted.
**And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.** I must admit to going to estate sales. Now that I have gone through the arduous process of down sizing [therapeutic, I might add] ...I’m finding vintage things, that I sold long ago.
My allowance is 25¢ ...so I don’t buy much. :) The *American Pickers* don’t have to worry about me, cutting into their business. Most of the people you meet at sales are interesting; they have taught me that 100% of them who are moving/retiring are moving out of Connecticut. That’s my unscientific poll. 100%
You mean he isn’t going to fly to D.C. in an SR-71?
My father has met H a number of times. H was always a perfect gentleman dealing with people. If he met someone, he would remember his or her name and some detail. The next meeting he would greet that person by name, no matter how significant the meeting. That strikes me as old school.
Getting to jump by choice has to be an improvement.
I consider him an enemy of the USA. He is the worst kind, the kind that looks polite and decent, prentending to be a nice guy. And Barbara came up with one of the 3 alibis Bush had for JFk’s assassination so she must be at least a little dirty too.
I remember when he went skydiving on his 85th birthday, Barbara’s comment was “One way or another, this will be his last jump.” LOL! He fooled her and did it again when he was 90!
I seem to recall hearing a story that he decided to wear cool and rather flashy socks because he likes them and also because he’s been in a wheelchair, which shows them off more. It’s become a signature item for him and he often gives colorful socks for gifts.
