This is Betsy DeVos versus the teachers’ unions, with the Dims supporting the unions against School Choice!!!!
If the Dims had the benefit of School Choice when they were young, perhaps they would not be so Dim!!!!
By the way, this brouhaha has been trending on Twitter, which is how I know about it. And President Arnn of Hillsdale College calls Betsy DeVos “excellent”!!!!
DeVos is one of us, but she is awful on her feet. Perhaps it is by design that she should come off as dumber than a box of rocks?
When she answers, I still am not certain wth she has said, because she is so heavy on bumper sticker phrasing and sweetness before she gets it out. After that, you realize she didn’t answer the question.

This is all theater, bluster, chest-puffing and prancing by the liberals. They know they can't stop these nominees, so this is all they've got. They have to get their punches in where they can. Franken's attacks are an example.
I saw a Fox News interview of the woman who's the president of the national teachers union. You could see the desperation in her tenor and face, trying to explain that DeVos was going to close down the public school system and close the Dept. of Education. What she was really concerned about was losing her power as the union chief.
Many of you on this site are old enough to remember when we were in school in the 50s and 60s and US students ranked number 1 in the world in education skills.
Two things happened after I got out of school in the 60s that have caused our education system to now have students who rank 25th to 35th in the world. A huge drop in rankings.
First, Carter created the Education Department and two, the teacher's unions that favors teachers and administrators over the students in the classroom took over the public school system. Both have been disasters in educating students. The system is not working.
Trump wants to shake things up and DeVos is just the one to do that. Just as the media and the establishment politicians are all up in arms over impending changes that will come with Trump's leadership, the education bureaucracies are quaking in their boots if DeVos is the new "educator" in town.
Tennis Shoes Murray makes a fool out of herself every time she opens her mouth. The whole thing is disgraceful.

Creating the Department of Education was probably Jimmy Carter’s greatest f**k-up, and that says a lot, considering his monumental brain farts over a four-year period. The creation of the Department of Education destroyed public education in the United States.
After DeVos’s nomination for DOE Secretary, a woman I used to teach with sent out a blast e-mail saying that DeVos must be stopped at all costs because she a threat to the public schools because of her stance on school choice. I spent my career in the public schools and if they cannot survive because of school choice, then they deserve to die.
Many of the public schools’ problems stem from regulations from FedGov that require them to take every human under the age of 18 (21 if handicapped) who comes through the door. If thugs choose your school, there is little you can do to keep them out. It may be impossible to roll back these regs (You’re denying education to children!!) which would make the public schools more competitive with private/religious schools. Until the rules for public schools change it is hard to blame parents who pull their kids out of schools where their children are threatened or simply denied an education by the kids who misbehave. Many of the teachers I worked with sent their own children to local Catholic/Lutheran schools—including my principal.

All this teeth bashing about the LBGT acceptance is really about the left wanting the “rules” kept in place written by the Obama Ed. Dept. to MANDATE that boys are allowed in girls restrooms if they claim they are “different”.

Senator Kaine is trying to tie Education policy to whether or not it benefits President Trump financially. He’s badgering and belittling Mrs. DeVos. She has more patientce than God with these creeps.
