sorry 18 and in school is school age by definition. I didn’t say 18 wasn’t legal age. In fact that only applies to some things. No drinking for instance. She was 18 and went to a club for 18 and over. The original poster was in error. Can we agree to that and I will fall down and expose my jugular and stop this diddlysquat

Not sure why this “school age” distinction is so important ...but OK, I agree if student is 18 and currently attending high school, they are school-age...If they are 18 and not in school, then are they school aged? Adults? I think if they are 18 and not in school, they are not school age, and they are definitely adults...*

Regardless of whether in school or out of school, 18 year- olds cannot (for the most part) drink until 21 (that is debate for another thread). However, whether in school or not, legally 18 year-olds are considered adults and have all the rights and responsibilities of adults in every other way.

So From what is being said by you and others, if 18 and in school/school age, we are not to question their behavior—they are immature adults. However, if 18 and out of school, it is maybe OK? I ask that with all sincerity.

Again, I will point to the torture kidnapping incident in Chicago a couple weeks ago. I bet at least 1,000 Freepers commented on what happened and those kids were 18...I don’t know if they were still in school. Was that an important distinction? I ask with all sincerity.

*As an aside, I had one of mine graduate a full year early from high school—he was very proud of fact that he was not in high school, and would not have been pleased to be refereed to as school-aged.

Oh and no need to answer if you don’t want to continue the “diddlysquat.”

Fregards.
