Well, if you were waiting on President-elect Donald Trump to respond to Saturday Night Live’s cold open last night poking fun at his press conference and the recent release of an unverified dossier, wait no longer.

Follow Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump .@NBCNews is bad but Saturday Night Live is the worst of NBC. Not funny, cast is terrible, always a complete hit job. Really bad television! 4:46 PM - 15 Jan 2017 6,054 6,054 Retweets 23,379 23,379 likes Trump has taken numerous shots at both Saturday Night Live and NBC News over the past few months, even though he is executive producer of The New Celebrity Apprentice (which hasn’t stopped him from attacking that show’s ratings).

There was a resurgence in the late 80s/early 90s with Phil Hartman, Jan Hooks, the blond conservative girl whose name escapes me, Mike Meyers, Jon Lovitz, Dennis Miller, and a little bit later that chubby guy who died of the cocaine overdose.

But yeah, after that, pretty much a fatal trend line.

He doesn’t need to change it up a bit. I like Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey on 30 Rock, haven’t seen SNL lately (except the Carrie Fisher tributes).

When a Republican expresses an opinion, it’s an “attack”.

I saw a rerun last nite from Nov 1978, I guess in tribute to guest hostess Carrie Fisher

In spite of some talented cast members, it reminded me how stupid so many of its skits were. Just plain unfunny. The Blues Brothers were funny, but that’s hardly iconic. Lots of comedians could duplicate that. I remember sometimes a terrible skit would end, and the audience would sit then, and then I guess egged on, applauded politely . . And lightly . . . And as the camera would fade to a break, I would think “people actually get paid to write this ****?”

The Weekend Update sucked too. I must’ve been really bored back in 78

I can’t even imagine how bad it must be now

It’s NBC. Aka DNC TV.

he is drawing attention to them that they wouldn’t otherwise receive.

Yeah, people will tune in once and say: "He's right....this sucks". Then they'll either have to get funny, or hang it up.

trump needs to be a little smarter sometimes.

He might well be killing them.

Peopke in NYC still think people watch it. I’m not sure why they think that, but they do for some reason.

I stopped watching SNL years ago because it stopped being funny.

It’s not because it had an agenda, but because it didn’t handle even that in a funny way. It normally bordered on STUPID.

John Stewart had an agenda...but he did have a feel for comedy.

Greg Gutfeld, conservative libertarian maybe, tries to be funny. He fails 9 out of 10.

He is fox’s answer to snl, and they both waste air time.

SNL is like John Lewis - way outlived it’s time. Used to be good, now just embarrassing.

It generally hasn't been worth watching since Colin Quinn left.

The firing of Norm MacDonald was a sign of things to come.

I agree with Trump. With Belushi there was no political meme. He just had us all rolling on the floor laughing.

Chevy Chase was portraying Gerald Ford as a bumbling idiot.

“Who gives a rat’s patoot about SNL?”

Last night’s Trump skit has shown up THREE TIMES on my Facebook feed today, one an autostart video.

It is about SPREADING A NARRATIVE. Bush ignored this crap, and he SNL “Stoopid!” narrative took hold. Obama was praised as something like a god who was above the petty frays.

Trump is calling them out for it, which is about damned time in my opinion.

I watch SNL as I have for the last 41 years. I like a cute of the cast members. I fast forward and sometimes watch the show in 15 minutes or more if I ;ike the music.

The Donald Trump skits are not funny at all and at this point are repetitious, nothing new, and blatantly obvious. They made fun of the female lawyer and Trump passing out the documents. Big Ha Ha. She actually did a great job and he did something most candidates don’t do, provide documents.

I tape a lot of shows I don’t watch, but fast forward through. One wonders how Baldwin appears so frequently when he was Lorne Michaels ever buys a clue.

They did an interview skit blasting Hollywood. The guests made a movie called Mr Robot 3 on Boob Mountain. Then they said it was their obligation to fight back, like Meryl Darlin did on the Globes. That was typical hilarious and right on point. They need two or three of those type of skits a week.

Every season I have tried to watch SNL, wondering if by random chance if any of it—anything—is actually funny. Every time I find there is just nothing funny, original or clever about it.

The original cast was 6 or 7 players, and each one was hilarious all on their own. Now there must be at least two dozen cast members, none of whom are clever, funny or talented. It’s remarkable how bad the show has become.

If you smoke pot then SNL is hilarious ... especially if you’re with a group of like minded friends.

Be sure to have lots of munchies on hand.
