Yes - definitly important details. I’m guessing the old guy will still be in trouble for shooting the lady. ALTHOUGH - I wonder if there is some defense that she was the one ordering the dog napping, and that SHE was the real threat and not the brother-in-law. Although it would seem to me that shooting someone to stop a dog napping (or kidnapping or major theft) would only be justified to stop the immediate threat (so the brother-in-law in this case).

How about the 83 year old is a dangerous nucking futcase?

And was the woman estranged from her husband because of his behavior or association with this old criminal?

Did the old guy have legitimate custody of the dog?Did the recently deceased husband?

Since dog came to BIL when called it seems he,at least,was happy to see them.

Excessive warning signs and “armed mannequin” are clues to someone having mental health issues.

Still need thorough investigation but I think some BIG. Changes are coming to the old fellow’s life.
