Actually I’m wondering where there were any other adults for the past year. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins? Anyone? How can family members not notice him gone?
I saw on another news source that the child was taken out of school 3 years ago. It seems this monster mother was the only one in contact with her children.

The father was the one who found him. But that doesn’t excuse him from not being in the boy’s life for a year. The siblings hadn’t so much as spoken to him through the door for 6 months. Why the heck didn’t the siblings tell someone? Didn’t the school question where he was? As you said, where were the relatives, neighbors and friends? Unbelievable.
