No, it’s just reported now.
In earlier decades the press, clergy, and government colluded to suppress stories like this under the cockamamie theory that not alarming the public was some sort of higher goal.
People who lived through this crap were silenced.

Good Lord. The man claims he’s attracted to young girls, but insists he hasn’t molested them. Then I read this admission of his, “I knew I was attracted to little girls, I was always a little close, maybe I hugged them too tight, or did some things I shouldn’t have done, but I never penetrated a child, never – what I would call – had sex with a child.” Hey, buddy, you don’t have to have sex with a kid to have molested them, and it sure sounds to me like he did actually molest them. He should be in jail. His wife is covering up for him. Shades of Dottie Sandusky right there.

That could be true but I am a girl, 5 years older than my brother. I got into a fist fight with an older boy for mistreating him when he was about 3.
I ran the older boy off after punching him a couple of times. I can’t imagine not saying something to someone if that had gone on for that long.

They are both disgusting and criminals. I hope the suit against him is not dismissed. He belongs in prison.
The father was the one who found him. But that doesn’t excuse him from not being in the boy’s life for a year. The siblings hadn’t so much as spoken to him through the door for 6 months. Why the heck didn’t the siblings tell someone? Didn’t the school question where he was? As you said, where were the relatives, neighbors and friends? Unbelievable.
She’s pulled the kids from school some time back. Trying to homeschool? Giving homeschoolers a bad name.

You can bet that the trauma the 12 year old experienced was also felt by his siblings. You can’t abuse just one child in a family without it having an impact on the others as well. They will do what they need to do to survive, even if that means going along with it.
The article fails to mention whether or not the other siblings are older or younger, and whether or not they even live in the same home.
There are way too many unknowns in this story. Hope there’s a follow up.
I pray for the boy’s survival, and overall well being.
