In the run-up to tonight's Golden Globes, many were wondering just how political the night would become-this being the unofficial beginning of awards season, and the first major awards ceremony to take place since the election. So far, winners have been erring on the side of not addressing the elephant in the room, but Viola Davis made a powerful statement about Donald Trump's America backstage.

Trump really has exposed more people and organizations for what they really are in just two years...than any other time in my life. I have been disappointed and cheated by celebs, rock stars, politicians...all of these people insult me and have no regard for my family, life, or beliefs.

I don’t find wghat she said offensive at all. America..and Americans..are bigger than one person in the White House, as it should be. The fact that he was elected to lead us says as much about us needing a leader who can break the logjam. Once that is done, the shackles removed so to speak, there is no imposed impediment to being all we can be...even if that sounds corny.. ;)
I see that, too. I don’t see anything there to get in a twist about. And these were backstage remarks, not in front of a mike or audience. I’ll take them as candid remarks. Naturally, they may mean something different to me than others...I Don see anything wrong with that, either.
