Drudge has shown up in-person to TWO different national FreeRepublic events, back in the day.
A really modest guy who LINKS TO US, helps us, to his own huge detriment, actually, since that gives folks a way AROUND HIM to get to his stories, right..?
We should all be CLICKING ON HIS ADS.
And telling our friends to get our news THROUG HIM.
15 years ago Drudge was responsible for maybe 1/3 of our membership.
HIS IS OUR BUDDY.
when i open my browser in the morning, i’ve been doing the same thing for the last 15+ years:

1. check drudge for top stories or major things of note
2. hit FR for a deeper look at the stories of the day along w/ commentary
no need for any other news source after those two. many times, i’m more informed then my congresscritter’s office
I remember Drudge meeting us in DC. He had just had a surge in readership because he broke the Lewinsky story and was so thankful to FR people who sent him links and kept him updated regarding that story and other slimy Clinton news.
Even now, I will read a comment here that will say “someone needs to send this to Drudge”- and that is what we used to do- especially during the Lewinsky scandal and the crazy Bush/Gore election and recount fiasco.
He has always linked to us and is definitely a friend who deserves our support.
I became a lurker because of him during the Clinton years and became a member after 9-11 happened so I have him to thanks for finding this site
