It will be equally interesting to see if she experiences the Arlene Sphincter Effect.
Sphincter was the Pennsylvania Republican turncoat who went over to the Dark Side and was immediately shunned. I believe his new friends even ran someone against him in his first re-election bid as a RAT.

Arlen Specter actually started out as a Democrat who switched to Republican, and then switched back to a Democrat late in his career.
