I visited a state park frequently.

Every time I went back there were more signs added: ‘DO NOT FEED DEER.’ Eventually there was a sign every 100 yds which certainly didn’t add to the natural beauty of the place.

The next time I visited the place, what do I see? Multiple carloads of Yankees pulled over and hand-feeding the deer.

I gave a nice long blast on the car horn and the deer forgot about the buffet line rather quickly.

I have had experience with deer like this. They are usually orphans, get raised with the livestock. Even though they are treated as pets, they return to their wild instincts after a couple of years. They can not stop themselves.

Why would carloads of "Yankees" be pulled over to hand-feed deer? Are deer stupider in your state than they are up North? Because there certainly aren't more of them in the South than there are where they live. The distribution is pretty even:
