I took a tour of a Sheriff department in Michigan. In their armory, they had two Thompson sub-machine guns, in violin cases they had confiscated from rum runners during prohibition.

It was pretty cool to see. I always thought that was just TV legend.

The only time that I recall seeing it on TV I think was in an old Bugs Bunny cartoon.
