Market Borders, Not Open Borders
Mises Wire ^ | December 20, 2016 | Jeff Deist

The attack on a Christmas market in Berlin earlier this week, apparently carried out by a Pakistani immigrant*, is just the latest in a series of violent and disturbing terrorist incidents in Germany. The event raises uncomfortable questions about immigration, culture clashes, Islam, and identity: what does it mean to be German, rather than someone who merely lives in Germany? It also raises pragmatic questions about how to provide physical security in public spaces, given such dramatic failures by the German government.

Libertarians can duck these questions, or dismiss them. We can sniff about how everyone is an individual, how Islam is not to blame, or how Pakistanis are not any more prone to murderous violence than Germans. We can argue for a holistic approach to welfare statism, foreign policy, and human migration. None of these arguments will help Germans deal with horrific criminality here and now, however. Rather than virtue-signaling to deeply illiberal and hostile audiences in government, media, and academia, we should make populist arguments for radical privatization of property and security. Imagine the actions a private shopping mall, theme park, or stadium would take immediately in response to a terrorist incident on their private property!

No one should be granted residency in Germany who doesn’t admire Germans and German culture, and no one should be granted citizenship who doesn’t want to be German.

It seems pretty simple to me. The same would be true of any country.

Even a multi-cultural country such as the US or Canada has bedrock principles, philosophical and cultural commonalities that allow us to speak of an American people, or a Canadian people, despite the fact that their forbears came from all over the globe. Anyone who wants to come must want to be part of this, must want to be American or Canadian himself. Otherwise, he is not a fit candidate for entry into the country. If you love us and want to be one of us, then welcome. Otherwise, no thanks.

See, this is why the Libertarians won’t get nowhere. A bag of Doritos have more intelligence than them.

The day will come, hopefully soon, when all the countries which have suffered from the actions of the Arabic murderers band together. They could each contribute 20, 40 or 100 thousand troops then come up with a command structure and begin the cleansing of Europe, America and other affected countries. The Arabs will scream “Crusaders!” So what. It took a unified effort to drive them back to their deserts in the 1600’s and it will take a unified effort this time.

But, we must get rid of them!

Guess I’m not a libertarian! LOL! Just a Constitutionalist.

Was in Germany right after the wall came down. The Turks were moving in. The German’s were ticked and then they let a real enemy in! WTF is wrong with them?

Gastarbeiter was and is a complete disaster-even the former socialist chancellor of that country admitted as much.

The people who are being allowed in now-by the hundreds of thousands and soon to be millions-are less assimilable, more of a burden, and even more of a security threat and threat to German culture.

Gastarbeiter is insanity.

Why do they hang on to it? I’m hoping their polls are just a much a lie as our polls usually are. That’s the only way I can explain it. They don’t seem like absolute morons.
