I use over the air TV inputs. Breakups indicate a low signal. Install an amplifier on the antenna line.

Over the air transmissions are digital. When not enough information gets through, the processor on the TV tries to interpolate the display.

Solution - get more signal - reorient the antenna or get an amplifier.
