Slaves in Delaware, Missouri, Maryland and Kentucky notr the territory of West Virginia that broke off from Virginia. Those slaves were not freed until the ratification of the 13th Amendment in Dec 1865.
Missouri ended slavery on January 11, 1865. Maryland ended slavery October 13, 1864. West Virginia ended slavery February 3, 1865. Delaware and Kentucky did not end slavery until the 13th Amendment was ratified.
