This from a guy whose last 5 or 6 movies were straight to video.

"Isn’t he close to being broke?"

That's why he's been accepting every b-movie straight-to-DVD role he's been offered for the last decade - he needs the money.

How about portraying Reagan as the person he was and not embellish him one way or another?

Nick, you have no career, and no one is going to watch your Reagan movie.

Then by all means, rewrite the script to make Reagan into a crypto-Nazi in order to placate a bunch of America-hating commie-symp Hollywood has-beens...
Oh, wait. They already did that.

Honestly, i’d turn it down too.

Any movie out of hollyweird today about Reagan is sure to be nothing more than a leftist bash-fest smear job.

Just the idea that these flaming snowflake Hollywood leftist shitbag types are pushing this movie concept says that’s what they’re up to.

As great a man and as incredible a life as the Gipper led, I do not trust Holywood to represent him fairly in a film.

In a few decades maybe , but the film industry at this moment is swarming with Reds

If “Wicker Man” didn’t ruin his career then nothing will. :)

There isn’t many in Hollywood that can portray a man as great as Reagan. Many of these tiny little people have no clue as to what he was about and could not even understand enough about him to do him justice.

I think your career was going under for the third time way before the offer for the Reagan movie, Nick.

Well in one way I think we can see his point.. we know how Holllywood works. You risk your career to say or show anything on the right as good

These actors and entertainers who live in another world and make millions memorizing words aren’t worth our time. I would want someone who doesn’t play politics when accepting or denying a part and I hope these holier than thou idiots that refuse to either play a part of a beloved president OR refuse to entertain at President Trumps swearing in LOSE work because of it. There are a lot of conservatives that enjoy seeing some of these acts and will boycott. I’m not spending money on idiots!!

George C Scott had the same fears in Patton. He thought everyone hated him.

I vehemently disagree. Cage is an outstanding actor, one of the few who can play both a villian and a hero.

For the life of me, I can't see why anyone would cast Nicolas Cage as President Ronald Reagan. The voice, the physical stature, the presence, the facial structure, the twinkling eyes and mischievous grin, absolutely none of it is there.

He won't look or sound like Reagan, so if he goes all nasty caricature it might as well be West Wing - The Bad Old Years. Probably will be anyway, given the utterly predictable source, regardless of whichever ideology-addled hapless boob they put in the role, fully intending to be anything other than flattering. So, Nick, bless your heart, stop worrying. Do what you know you're being paid to do, draw your paycheck and get on with looking for the next one.
