Didn’t she lose a lot of weight before the Star Wars movie? If so, could diet drugs have weakened her heart?

Lost a friend two years ago. Absolute health nut. Took exceptional care of himself. Raced motorcycles for almost forty years. Aggressive bring cancer killed him in months.

I keep wondering if deep vein thrombosis got her. She was on a very long flight, and thrombosis is not all that rare for someone sitting without moving for prolonged periods.

So sad.

She had been sober for many years.

And he might just be wrong on this Lady. She went through gastric by-pass a few years ago and then ate like a sparrow, not getting the nutrients she needed. Did she use drugs? I don’t have a clue, but I know what gastric by-pass can cause with drastic weight loss and poor follow-up diet. Look at Al Roker, he has done it the right way!

To the L$M it's only bad when non-celebrities smoke.

Or political conservatives and Republicans. Case in point: very little was ever made of Obama's current smoking during the 2008 campaign, yet we heard a lot more about McCain's previous smoking, which he had stopped many years before. And another: No MSM ever said anything about or showed Jackie Kennedy smoking when she was First Lady, although she consumed up to three packs per day.

F her. Everyone has problems, doesn't mean the first thing you turn to is drugs to try and solve them.

Hey, smoking shortens lives. A dear friend, my dad’s caregiver until he passed, is now going through lung cancer treatment from smoking. You certainly are correct that it could have played a huge part.

We all know about smoking and lung cancer. But the MSM aren’t too quick to bring up the connection between smoking and coronary artery disease, and, in some instances, sudden cardiac death. This is especially true when it concerns left-leaning celebrities, especially left-leaning female celebrities. Women who continue smoking beyond menopause are at particularly high risk.

If it is indeed true that Carrie Fisher’s fatal heart aneurysm was due to drugs, then my sympathies to Debbie Reynolds. I had a friend who died very young due to drugs, long before her parents died, and her dad is devastated by the death, so I know exactly how it’s like for Ms. Reynolds to go through that.

Sounds like Tommy Sotomayor has some commonalities to Alfonzo Rachel. I wonder if they’re acquaintances.

[justiceseeker93:] given Ms. Fisher's accomplishments in that world and the fact that she died at 60 from a massive myocardial infarction, I'm making an educated guess that the primary underlying cause of this was long-term heavy cigarette smoking, rather than LSD and cocaine. The hard drugs scenario over any long amount of time would probably be incompatable with such a lengthy and productive career, a career requiring a good functional brain.
[Nifster:] She had been sober for many years.

Yup; dumb arguments like she-used-to-use-illegal-drugs-now-she's-dead-so-illegal-drugs-killed-her is par for the Drug Warrior course.

She was a long time drug user and her own friends are saying she was high as a Georgia pine on Thanksgiving.

If they told me she had died of liver cancer I could buy the argument. I’ve had friends that had their livers go on them after decades of sobriety.

Heart failure not so much

Airplane ride and yes decades of smoking may have been contributory. But then again we don’t know

What drug was she thought to be using then? Perhaps we'll know more once we get autopsy results with toxicological tests (that's if they are made public).

If she was doing cocaine recently, it could have precipitated the sudden cardiac death. But cigarette smoking still could be an important factor.

Instead is speculating why not just wait
