Dog eats food.
Why is this a news story.
Who is narcissistic enough to yell “the dog ate the turkey, quick, call the papers?”

Okay, so the dog talked to the turkey in a scornfully derisive or mocking way.
How did that ruin Christmas?
Perhaps the writer meant to use the term “scarfing” in its slang form?

Note to self:
1. Put the turkey up higher.
2. Don’t leave the turkey out the night before.
3. Get a bigger turkey (or lose the dog).

Slow news day.
“Turkey eats dog” would have been an interesting story.

Our dog ate the Christmas ham once. It was a Great Pyrenees. It could handle the ham and then come back for seconds . . . .

If they leave the food out all night, maybe it’s a lucky thing that the dog ate it and not the family.

Tur-Chi-Apso?
Would one use a stuffing/dressing more geared toward turkey, or dog?

Various dogs owned by my family have eaten so much it became a medical emergency for at least one, who had to have his stomach pumped, IIRC. A small mini poodle ate a rump roast IIRC. Funny now, but the dog was not loving it after becoming a bloated mess.

We had a lab like that. She would eat anything to excess. We had to be careful. Found her gnawing on a rock hard frozen chicken once. Pure food psycho.
