Some of us LOVE getting books, especially for Christmas. There's something special about unwrapping a book on Christmas morning - and enjoy sharing with others.
I rarely post anything (maybe five articles in 15 years on Free Republic), but thought this would be a good time for book-lovers to share what we received this morning.
I got:
"The Lion in the Iving Room; how house cats tamed us and took over the world" by Abigail Tucker.
"A Torch Kept Lit" by James Rosen.
I got a 2017 diary. Hmmm...

I used it to get the yule log going.

High Life by Matthew Lasner.
Just kidding...although it is fun to read the reviews on amazon.
Actually since I like non fiction I read a book called “Radium Girls”. It was a riveting (at least to me) account of what happened to the Dial painters of the 1920’s who used to put the brushes with radioactive paint between their lips .

Actually it was for my birthday five days ago.
Whole lot of World War One books, too many to list. Found some bargains online, and opened my wallet a bit wider than usual.
Got 3, all technical, but just what I wanted!
“My Spunky New Friend” by Brent White. It’s a children’s book. Signed first print edition. The author’s first book. He’s my neighbor. A totally deaf starving artist that did all his own illustrations. I’m very proud of him and happy to be his friend.
I didn’t get but bought as a gift Rush’s latest children’s book: Rush Revere and the Presidency.
