LUNKHEAD is a good'un.

However, Clint Eastwood can turn the word "asshole" into 17 syllables...and THAT word is the very best in the world.
My opinion only.

“Absquatulate’ - meaning to leave town, possibly in a hurry...

In related news, the audio book readings of Mark Twain's books as read by John Greenman for librivox, are incredible and free.

I've done Mark Twain, Huck Finn, and Life on the Mississippi already and will do some more this next year. The narrator's voice adds a great element to the stories.

There's a librivox app that's free also.

The usage rose sharply in the 1970s, probably due to the United State Bicentennial, and then again in the mid-1980s, perhaps due to the bicentennial of the Statue of Liberty.

Huh?

Note: “bicentennial” is an adjective, not a noun.

False.

The noun is bicentenary.

Anything vegan with some arugula in it will do. Combined with the the liberal call of the wild - “Gun control! Gun control!” you’ll have as many as you can bag.

It’s better than gruel.

Vegan is an old Indian word that means lousy hunter.

In the Christmas movie, It Happened on 5th Avenue, Charles Ruggles talks about eating slumgullion when he was young and poor.

I’ve always like “slumgullion”.

That's a good'un.

Another of my favorites, after ASSHOLE, is "JERK."
Both are non-gender, non-age, non-language, etc., but convey the feeling of disgust.
"What a JERK!" Ain't that just perfect for some people?
