Caitlyn sounds like a female name and the article referred to her as a female — people here seem to refer to her as a male.

Either way, if he/she can afford it, finds a willing doctor, and indeed it makes her happy, hope it comes out OK, why should we care what she does.

I follow a local SoCal band / performance troupe named Steam Powered Giraffe. These guys are the most talented I've seen in decades. Two brothers and a friend. They happen to like pantomime, and they can harmonize. But the only pantomime they enjoy is the Robot. So these guys get together and play instruments and sing, but their schtick is that they pretend to be robots while doing so. The guy on the left is, or was, Christopher Bennett. Christopher went to the courts in california for over a year for a name and gender change, so he's now legally Isabella Bennett. If we are to be a nation of laws, lets now know that Isabella is a woman. Here is a video. I recommend watching it. In this video we get to see Isabella do her makeup for her act. Throughout my following the band, it's clear that these guys LOVE their craft, and they are happiest when doing it. But what struck me here is something that sorta changed my mind to the whole gender swap thing. In the first frame of this we get to see .. Yes, this is Isabella. (Hormone therapy for a balding guy is tough, it turns out. So she wears wigs and hats) we see her looking really, really miserable. The time-lapse goes on to cover the 2 hours of makeup time to get into the Rabbit Character. What struck me so powerfully is that the end of the video, we witness a complete turn-around. She starts off looking miserable, and then we see how happy she is at the end. It doesn't matter what I think. This person has found what makes them happy, and I didn't have to pay for it. Live and let live.
