Reader View a viewing mode in Safari on the iPhone or iPad which strips away all of the banners, ads, popups, graphics, etc, leaving behind only the text, so that you don’t see all the other crap. It also does text reflow and lets you easily resize the text for reading. Its easy to invoke by tapping on the Reader View icon in the upper left corner of the browser. However, nearly all of the posts at FR cannot be used by mobile Safari, which makes reading the posts difficult. That is, the Reader View icon does not show up in the upper left corner at an FR post. Without Reader View, you have to pinch zoom and scroll around constantly - a real annoyance.

One might ask, why not use another browser? Well, Safari has hooks into iOS which gives it more speed and more features not available to other mobile browsers.

Let me know if you need more information. Thanks!

Huh. Apple seems to use voodoo for this feature. I don’t know what I can do to enable it, Apple uses heuristic algorithms to mark off content. Maybe they have since added markup magic, the 2010 article I read left me with little hope.
