Dont pay your taxes if Congress defunds Planned Parenthood, feminist and abortion activist Gloria Steinem told a womens group on Thursday.
Reuters reports Steinem said she is worried about the future of abortion because of in-coming President Donald Trump. Trump promised to sign a bill to defund Planned Parenthood as long as it continues to do abortions and to appoint pro-life justices to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Steinem said abortion activists should consider tax resistance if Congress defunds the abortion chain of its half a billion in taxpayer dollars.
In this case, we can say Im sending the part of my income tax that should go to Planned Parenthood, Im sending it directly to Planned Parenthood. Come and get me, she said during a panel discussion hosted by Donor Direct Action, of which Steinem is a founder.
The report continued:
Steinem said she is heartened by a renewed energy among womens rights advocates since the Nov. 8 presidential election, such as a planned womens march on Washington on Jan. 21, the day after Trump takes office.
What I see in the streets and online and in all kinds of ways is that people are taking power unto themselves, she said.
There are a lot more of us than there are of him.
Whether the pro-abortion activists will match the crowd of pro-life individuals who attend the March for Life a few days later seems doubtful. The peaceful, pro-life march typically brings hundreds of thousands of pro-lifers to the streets of D.C. in January, to march for the rights of unborn babies.
Historically, abortion activists have not had been able to match the strong, grassroots support of pro-lifers. Back in 2010, pro-abortion leader Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL, expressed concern after seeing the huge crowds at the March for Life.

There are so many of them, and they are so young, Keenan said at the time.
Though Planned Parenthood is reporting a huge number of donations in response to the recent election, its questionable if it has enough grassroots support to continue its massive abortion operation without taxpayer funding. Its CEO alone makes close to $1 million. And abortion groups own polls indicate that young, pro-abortion individuals are not as enthusiastic or active in the cause as young pro-lifers.
Meanwhile, pro-life pregnancy centers some largely and many solely funded by private donations are expanding, offering pregnant and parenting women resources and encouragement to help them choose life for their babies.
Where to start?
That would be an un-forced error win.
Probably won’t enjoy prison food; but the IRS oughta get a kick out of her assettes.
I hope Gloria likes ‘orange’
Lock her up!
Please, please, please don’t pay your taxes, Gloria.
Steinem ain’t too bright.
Oh, not so much for refusing to pay taxes.. I can see refusing to pay taxes in protest for the unconstitutional ways they are being spent.....
But this is the first time I ever saw someone refusing to pay because of a way they (possibly) AREN’T going to be spent, in a possible future.
But what is really stupid is loudly proclaiming that you will be a Tax Evader to millions, including IRS auditors.
Wow she’s giving us an incentive to defund PP. But I know she’ll never follow through with it. Just like all the liberals that should have moved out by now.
LOCK HER UP!!
And Cher and Woopie will leave the country if Trump is elected.
Oh noze. Gloria might end up homeless.
I hope she doesn’t.
The IRS will seize her assets and she’ll be on the street.
I really appreciate all these liberals telegraphing that they intend to break the law. They are making this absurdly easy.
Good luck with that
She got this idea from Hillary’s protest generation in the late 60’s who said they wouldn’t pay taxes because of the military and nuclear arsenal....
Then she really can be “with her->” in jail.
GOOD BIITCH AND GO TO JAIL WHEN THE NEW IRS COMES AFTER YOU!
You go girl ! People like Steinem should all refuse to pay their taxes if they don’t get their way about something, then they should actually not pay their taxes. It will be a financially highly effective tactic.
