And that’s just on my Dad’s side.

Something like 60 of the Confederate’s died. One of them was at both Gettysburg and Chancellorsville, where he was killed.

The Unionists had to leave the South. Most in the 1850’s. Later on, the Confederates had to leave the South because of Reconstruction. Our whole family was split geographically for 100 years.

We paid so many times over for the Africans to be free, it takes my breath away. Hardly any of them in the fight. We did it.

Reparations? Did all that in 1865.
