And he was an a$$hole.
He was my hero...meeting him (several times) was a disappointment I met his family...he was good to his wife, most important thing. She was sweet.
He was not popular among the other astronauts.
so for you: a$$holes can still be good servants in other ways. well i’m glad to agree with you on that, since i’ve most certainly been an a$$hole in my life many times. :)
