I’m not sure how talented this Jets team is anyway, but it really didn’t help that they didn’t sign Fitzpatrick until well into training camp. There’s a lesson to be learned here that you see played out over and over again in sports. A superstar can get away with showing up late for training camp, but most players never catch up and play poorly in these cases.

Bad play like this is a team effort. A lack of a solid offense coupled with a bad defense, and one player cannot make the difference. It will take several years of good drafts, judicious trades, and a change at the top to bring the Jets back.

that had absolutely nothing to do with it...Fitzpatrick was always a mediocre QB who had a career year in 2015 and had no chance of repeating his performance...he even sucked at times in 2015- very inconsistent...

the Jets had a very thin margin of error entering the year; their left tackle surprisingly decided to retire before the draft, they lost their starting RB to free agency, they have no tight ends, their top defensive player and best player on the team was coming off a severely broken leg and they had to replace one starting cornerback while the other (Revis) is on the downside of his career...factor in last years schedule was a cream puff while this years is a killer schedule and the recipe was their for disaster..

i was at the game last night and left before halftime...in the parking lot for 2 hours eating barbacued ribs and drinking Molsons Golden and in the stadium for just over an hour to watch that garbage...
