Many Democrats do indeed marry their cousins. They want to keep their oddities in the family.Inbreeding does create brain damager

”... we allow states to define who is allowed to marry whom."

Please note that “allowing” the states to define who can marry whom is not a matter of opinion.

Hypothetically speaking, and state sovereignty-ignoring activist justices aside, even if all citizens supported gay marriage, the Founding States had made the 10th Amendment to clarify that the Constitution’s silence about marriage means that there is nothing stopping each state from making its own rules for marriage.

But this was wrongly ignored by the activist justices who stole state powers to legalize gay “marriage" from the bench.

Whatever caused you to think of doing this research? :)

One minor thing, D.C. is not a state. But with the thinking that’s been coming out of the politics from there over the last 100 years, I’m not surprised.

Ok, first it’s gay rights, now we need inbred rights?

I’ve wondered about that. How would you know whether you are biologically related to anyone you are dating? Two people could have the same bio father and no one would know it.

I suppose that concern looms ever larger with today's single-parent families. In the past, you pretty much knew (to some degree of certainty) who your date's parents were... you met them in person. However, the blood tests required as part of marriage license process in the past were never a protection against extended-family nookie. Mostly, the tests were to check for syphilis and other STDs.

Now that DNA tests are available, that *could* be used to check for dangerous similarities. IIRC, most states dropped the blood test requirements before DNA tests were accepted as legal evidence by the courts.

They have put the college class in a debt that they cannot survive.

The Millennials will perhaps go down in history as the dumbest college educated generation in history. They have knowingly spent money (student loans) they don't have to universities that gave them education that is of no value for jobs that do not exist............

A high school classmate of mine married his first cousin back in the 70’s. Their son (in his 30’s) committed suicide 2 years ago. Not drawing any conclusions, but simply providing a data point. Hmmm.

Without any figures on how many children of 1st cousin marriages voted this this is utterly meaningless.

I looked at my genealogy and then looked at my wife’s and found a common ancestor from the 14th century that somehow put us as cousins 17 times back or something....so I tease her and say that we are cousins....and that we are married and that I love her.

Peace Be Unto You.

Thank you for the DNA comment. Makes perfect sense for ALL couples planning to get married and start a family to invest a little time and money to be sure that their children would not face inherited genetic problems.

My parents were VERY adamant that I COULD NOT ever “date”
even a DISTANT COUSIN, much less a FIRST COUSIN. We used to
go to family reunions and a third cousin used to play cards
with me (absolutely NOTHING nefarious going on). Daddy
didn’t even like that much fraternization. I was a bit
naïve; never even gave anything like that a thought. FANG
& I have been married 52 years, and we are NO KIN whatever.
FANG did run this cousin off years ago; so I guess he was
not as naïve as I was. - Marrying cousins and having kids
is NOT a good idea and an icky thought anyway. - Not
surprising that intermarried couples would think Cankles
was a good idea.

"My special thanks to Jill Stein who, without her involvement, Cankles would have won. Thank You for electing Trump!"

Who would have thought that a full blooded bolshevik green party puke would become an American hero. I would like to give Jill a big kiss and nominate her for the Freedom Medal for saving the Union and handing the white house to President Donald J. Trump, 44th president of the United States of America.
