Alabama will play Washington and Ohio State is set to face Clemson in the College Football Playoff semifinals.

The selection committee stayed with the same top four Sunday as it had going into championship weekend, leaving out No. 5 Penn State even though the Nittany Lions won the Big Ten title game and beat Ohio State earlier in the season.

I guess, in your opinion, ND was a great team this year? Now, that’s hilarious. They lost to DUKE at home.

Just curious, what team do you pull for?

ND wasn’t a great team. But they are stocked with big and fast 4 star recruits who wouldn’t give Bama an extra bye. Obviously that’s is why Chattanooga was on the schedule in November.

I grew up in California and now live in Florida. I watch a lot of college FB but don’t support any school in particular.

The SEC East is really bad, and has been for the last few years, judging by whose won it recently, Missouri and UF (with a putrid offense that’s been near the bottom of the NCAA rankings, ever since Tebow left)

Take the Division I-A Conferences and condense them down to 8. Don’t want to be in a conference? Fine. You don’t have to play for the national championship.

At the beginning of the season it will be determined by random drawing which conferences will play each other in the first round. After the first round a drawing will determine who plays each other in round two.

Playoffs and championship will take 3 games. If the teams all play 10 games, plus one to determine the conference champion, the season will be a very reasonable 14 games.

The major “bowl” games will be rotated through the playoff games, so there will still be “bowl” games.

Minor bowl games can be between the also rans, pretty much like they are now.

There, solves that...

There’s a reason for everything... Ohio University in 1998 (Athens Ohio) sued Ohio State University (Columbus Ohio) over the right to utilize (market etc) the name “OHIO” under the precedent that Ohio University first used the name OHIO in the mid-late 1800’s.

“The Ohio State University” allows OSU to signify the College in Columbus without infringing on Ohio University’s “trademark”.

Yeah it’s less than ideal.

LMAO, that little fact made you angry, did it? Too bad, it’s the truth. Deal with it.

You want to see overrated, just look at the Big Whatever Conference or whatever you call it, You have the worst team in the nation in Rutgers & horrible teams such as Maryland, Purdue, Indiana, Michigan State was dreadful this year. So you can get off your high horse. No one is impressed.

I can’t figure out why OSU fans are so rude & arrogant. You certainly haven’t earned it

You become absolutely enraged if other fans don’t bow down to the “mighty” OSU & tremble at the thought of playing you. Yawn.

That attitude is why everyone points and laughs at you.

BTW, the hypocrisy of your conference is noted.

You screamed and cried over Bama playing for the Championship in 2011 because we weren’t Conference Champs. Jim Delaney proved himself to be a complete ass.

Now, guess who made it into the Playoffs without even playing in the Conference Championship Game? My my...

Ummm..the ESPN talking heads are cheerleaders for the Big 10. Especially Joey Galloway & Danny Kanell, better known as “Dumb & Dumber”. Of course Galloway is still bitter about the beating we put on his Buckeyes in 1995. Hilarious.

You are seriously delusional. I haven’t seen or heard any Bama fan whine about OSU. We don’t think about OSU although we do stop for a few seconds to point & laugh when you lose.

Just curious, why are you Buckeyes so obsessed with Alabama? On my Twitter feed, Buckeyes are always trolling Bama fans for no reason. When I see the trolls, I take the time to thank them for their interest in Alabama Football.

Shouldn’t you be thinking about Clemson? You know, your next opponent? You should be worrying about Deshaun Watson picking the Buckeyes apart.

Our attention is on Washington, not OSU.

Automatically include the Power Five conference champions plus the best at-large

and if those five champs include teams like Florida, a three TD loser to average Arky, and VaTech, a two TD loser to bottom feeder Syracuse...? How s that indicative of the ‘cream of the crop’...?

and while we’re whacking away here, let’s not forget vaunted Penn St. six TD loss to Michigan; why should any team who loses by six TD’s think it deserves a top spot...? Do away with these artificial conference divisions, and contrived chammionship games where the contestants are clearly not the best conference teams...

Shouldn’t you be thinking about Clemson?

Clemson-OSU s a really good matchup; OSU’s offense looks like its playing in molasses (except when Nebraska’s in town) and Clemson couldn’t stop a high school team from scoring...who breaks down first...?

An 8 team playoff with the top four getting home games in the first round would solve a lot of issues.

that makes a great deal of sense; therefore, we can be assured that it will never happen...

the only issue, and a minor one at that, would be weather conditions in January n places like Columbus or Ann Arbor...

Fluke that Big 10 needs to fix.

just return to the days of yesteryear; no team can win two years in a row...like when the Rose Bowl never saw the same champion from the Big 10 twice in succession (and the Rose Bowl was the only bowl game the conference allowed, so an undefeated Big 10 team, number one in the country, could easily stay home during bowl season. Brilliant...)

This is so true. You can literally win your division and a conference title by virtue of a softer Cross-Division schedule. Pretty sure the only thing considered is Big 10 record for instance if you consider the Big 10.

Scenario:
Nebraska goes 8-1 in Big10 only losing to Wisconsin in West and 3-0 vs East beating Penn St and Rutgers at home and Indiana on road.

Wisconsin goes 7-2 in conference. 6-0 vs West and 1-2 vs East losing to Penn St and Ohio St in road night games and beating Rutgers at home.

Nebraska plays for championship while losing the west but having 2 of 3 East games home and 2 of 3 vs. weak teams.

So suddenly Wisconsin can’t “even represent it’s division” the nation sneers while Nebraska loses a hard fought game to MSU and gets the NY6 bowl bid over Wisconsin because “at least they played for the conference championship”

Those games are BS moneymakers unless schedules are balanced.

I am also! She’s attended a home game at least once year SINCE 1997...no matter where she’s lived! Also, there are “Clemson Clubs” all over the USA. It’s been fun for her! Great school!
