Amazing, how these so called journalists are unable to see the huge elephant in homes across America boycotting the NFL because of its liberalism and Colin, who also is pro Castro and Black Panther.

I was with the writer of the article until she started hammering on pro football players for beating their wives and children.

As one who hasn’t watched a full NFL game in 30 years, and who despises Jerry Jones, I agree that it has reached it’s zenith because I personally know several pretty manly fathers that will not let there kids play football. That’s where the end is going to come. The NFL farm teams starting in Elementary School are inexorably going away.

But, I don’t believe NFL guys beat their wives or children much more, if any, than the public at large. So, cheap shot!

I watch up to two football games every year ... and that's all:

The Army-Navy game ... attended Annapolis for two years and then spent 20 years in the Army.

Any bowl game that Navy is in.

And I DVR both of these so that I watch only the advertisements that I want to watch .. in point, the Army or Navy morale ones.

GO NAVY - BEAT ARMY!

The author demonstrated here total colorlessness by not mentioning Kapernick’s vile unpatriotic demonstration and the NFL’s acquiescence in it once a a likely cause for the ratings decline.

What you said and the fact that the ‘sport’ is designed to utterly destroy the human body that is.

No it's not. Steroid monsters make it so. Get rid of them and things would get much safer. But nobody wants to face up to that.

And the women empowerment commercials. Good luck with that. Cause that’s what guys love to see.

You make a good case that Ray Rice damaged football immensely. Or rather, Rodger Goodell did in his ham fisted response to Rice's punching his wife on video. That year they got rid of any fun commercials (you know, the beer commercials with guys in bars trying to pick up hot chicks, that sort of thing) and gave us a regular routine of "no more rape" stuff. And it's stayed that way. That's just a symptom of the feminization of the game they've been persuing.

Can’t watch a bunch of grown men prancing around a ball, holding their hands up like they are trying to not get cooties. . .all the while wearing silk shorts. . .not for me.

The MLS is like European Professional Basketball, it will never match the NBA.

And then with College Football, there's Baylor.

It took a while and the transition had its ups and downs for a couple of years.

The IT world where I finally got a full time job 4 years back has been way better.

and the fact that the ‘sport’ is designed to utterly destroy the human body that is.

thousands of people have played football without ‘destroying their bodies’...that being said, yes the game, as it is played currently, needs to be stylistically redefined; superfluous contact must be minimized, in favor of good form blocking and tackling...

high tech equipment, while great as far as it goes, is not the final answer; until players view themselves as ‘opponents’, and not ‘targets’, unnecessary injuries will follow...

They should have real students play the game

there are plenty of ‘real’ students who shouldn’t be in school as well...who gets to devise that metric...?

if they’re telling their kids to play soccer instead, they are not manly fathers...

when I wanted to play as a kid, neither my mother nor my father could have stopped me; not that either would have anyway...

you’ve really cut to the core of the problem with a minimum of verbosity...well done...
