Gergen didn't mince words last night on CNN, as Trump's victory lap last night in Cincinnati met with scorn and derision from the CNN contributor.
"This is goodbye to American leadership in the world. Goodbye to globalization. He’s bringing America home. He’s going to lead a nativist, nationalistic, populist movement and if you want to join up with him fine. If you don’t, forget it.”

That’s the point - in the video I did not pick up on his disdain or admiration for Trump - simply stating what he was going to do.

The difference is, if Gergen continues making such ugly remarks, he may get some direct feedback from those more sympathetic to this administration. Trumpers are more likely to call him on this BS. W’s devotees were told to turn the other cheek (again and again and again).
Therein lies the source of much of my animosity for W, who was far too much of a Christian for this country’s good.
