They’ve been that long before, including against Clempson. If Bud and Charlie can get all of the DL healthy, we might have a chance. The offense can take care of itself now.

Unranked and failing VT against powerhouse #10 Clempson(in HD)

You can bet the committee is praying for a Wisconsin win over Penn State so they can avoid having about 4 dozens worth of egg of their faces.

All the committee has preached over and over and over for the last 2 years is that Conference Championships and Head to Head results are the deciding factor over all other things. Well, when they pick Ohio State over Penn State they will show that the entire Playoff is a lie.

Michigan fan blog says J.T. Barrett got first down — and it can prove it

Watched it many times. Barrett got to the line before getting knocked back. First down. Best thing about it is that Meyer has officially set up residence in Harbaugh’s head. Should bode well for the Bucks in the future.

Yes, Barrett did, but the ball didn't. It never got past the defender's on the right shoulder until well after Barrett was down. It was easily short of the first down by the length of the football.

I disagree. The ball did. And based on the analysis at the Michigan fan blog, we should at least agree that there was absolutely no way there was conclusive video evidence that the call should be overturned.

75 points against SMU! Some people thought it was a basketball score!

Go Navy! Beat Army!

Right you are! It's infuriating, as I too remember the importance they put on conference championships and head-to-head results.

I'm not a Penn State fan, but if they emerge as the Big 10 champs, they deserve a spot in the Final Four. Not Ohio State!

I’m with you both. In fact, given that they only have 4 spots, the only decision from the committee should be which conference champ is left out. In my opinion, the current 4 slots should only be awarded to conference champions.

If you can’t win your own conference, then you shouldn’t be eligible to win the national championship!

If they want to include teams that don’t win their conferences, then they need to expand their playoff to 8 teams. Take all power 5 champs and then 3 at large teams.

If they take any team that is NOT a conference champion, they will show that their system is bunk! I don’t care if OSU (or UM) is higher ranked than the winner of PSU/UW. Decide it on the field! Period!

My dream would be that Colorado beats Washington, VT beats Clemson and Florida beats Alabama. What would the “committee” do then? Hmmm...

Oh, and go WMU Broncos! It’s nice to have a season for my alma mater to pay attention too....

Penn State should not have lost twice. Two losses hurts. OSU has five wins against teams that were ranked in the top 10 at the time.

Of the top 10 teams, Bama is the men amongst the boys.
Of the top 4 I think that the Huskies would give the Tide the best game.

I correct myself. Ohio State beat:

Michigan at home (currently #5) 30-27
Wisconsin on the road (#6) 30-23
Oklahoma on the road (#9) 45-24
Nebraska at home (no longer ranked but was #10 when they played) 62-3

and lost to:

Penn State on the road (#7) 24-21 on a blocked field goal (when leading by 4 near the end of the game) that was returned for 60 yards

Never count out THE Ohio State. I see another Meyer-Saban classic.

Anyone other than buckeye fans who watched know that the clearly superior team did not win that game.

except that clearly superior teams don’t record 5 yards of forward progress in the fourth quarter of big games...

Well, when they pick Ohio State over Penn State they will show that the entire Playoff is a lie.

well, except for the unfortunate fact that OSU has only lost one game and is ranked #2, and PSU has lost two games. one by 39 points and is ranked #7, I can’t see a single thing to dispute in your comment...

If you can’t win your own conference, then you shouldn’t be eligible to win the national championship!

but you should be eligible win the NC if you’ve lost more games than the team that didn’t win the conference...

OK, gotcha...

I’m sure you’re aware that Florida could win its championship after losing three regular season games...using your logic, Bama, after losing 0 regular season games, would be ineligible to play for the title...

This is the argument for 8. With 8, the five power conferences champs get in and three wildcard slots. I think they should drop a regular season game too. These boys get tore up, especially in the smash mouth SEC.

what they ought to do is abolish split conferences; and with them the useless conference championship games...really, is there any reason for Clemson or Bama to defeat three loss teams to establish their bonafides...?

Good point, but that’s another reason why Alabama is on top. Same uniforms they’ve always worn.

Roll Tide!!!
