Well, let’s be real, none of us want Romney to be anything north of sewer system cleaner...but if Trump is determined to co-op the NeverTrump movement, then he’s going to do something. In all likelihood he’s getting strong advice to do so that he listens hard to. If so, Romney probably feels like he has chits to play with and an “image” to uphold. He’s not going to agree to report to anyone but Trump.
I still think it all breaks down and Romney ends up out. But Trump thinks he can use him for whatever political reason. Where are the rest of us who are his base going to go after all? There’s no one else to rally around. He won.
I think Trump is playing with Romney like a cat plays with a mouse.
Romney, thinking of his own career, has now come to Trump. He will likely issue an apology if promised the SOS job, but Trump won’t care about that. Just seeing Romney jump through Trump hoops, then hearing thanks, but no thanks, is delicious. Any criticism of Trump after that will just look like sour grapes.
A guest on Dobbs tonight said the post election meeting between Trump and mittens was to give mittens an opportunity to do a public mia culpa and pledge his support. Mittens’ failure to do so essentially signed his own warrant. Let’s hope so.
The fake news that Trump was furious with Conway was started on MSNBC - Morning Joe, to be exact.

Trump and Conway have a wonderful and very successful working relationship. The way they’ve trolled the media, and politicians has been amazing. They successfully used the media to hand them the election.
Why do you think SoS hasn’t been announced yet? Is it typically awhile before an incoming POTUS has their cabinet put together?

A lot of people at state need to be fired or put out to pasture. State needs an enormous reorganization after 8 yrs of Chucko the clown as the president. Any and all that have obfuscated the truth and even downright lied for Chucko need to go ASAP and never work for govt again.

Trump set MSNBC up. And they fell for it. I wouldn’t doubt he secretly tasked someone to leak to “Morning Joe” that he was pizzed at Conway. They ran with it.
Then he publicly backed Conway’s statement.
Now, “Joe” doesn’t know who to believe, or what to say.
Made complete fools of them.
The give away that this was a trolling was Joe S. saying that there was distance between Conway and the other two close advisers Bannon and Prebus. (I don’t think so.) Then Conway coming out with that Byzantine statement about certain criticism being sexist — leaving Joe and Mina totally perplexed/confused. (Joe: “Who and what was sexist???? I don’t know what she is reeferring to.”
No one is stronger in opposition to Romney than Breitbart Bannon. “Sexist” is not a term Kellyanne tosses around casually — or at all.
If this is Trump using the media for his purposes AGAIN, it’s going to be utter genius.

Agreed, but we have a chance to really make a difference if Trump will take the reigns and steer it away from its current anti-American, muslim loving course.
The swamp is alive, well, and undrained so far. To drain it, he has to keep all the swamp critters chasing their own tails while he plants eucalyptus trees, installs pumps, and changes the grade of the land. So some obfuscation and wild cards are absolutely necessary.
