Texas Republican Elector to resign instead of voting for President-elect Donald Trump

A Republican member of the Electoral College from Texas says he’s resigning so he won’t cast one of the state’s 38 electoral votes for Donald Trump.

Art Sisneros previously told The Associated Press that he was wavering on supporting Trump because the Republican “is not biblically qualified for office.”

In a lengthy weekend blog post, Sisneros updated that, saying “the best option I see at this time is to resign my position as an elector.”

” because the Republican “is not biblically qualified for office.” “

And why is there no process to weed out these nutbags?

He’s there to pick a president of the US, not Israel. Jewish people wouldn’t be able to vote for Bibi Netanyahu under his standard

Texas Republican Elector to resign instead of voting for President-elect Donald Trump

Resigning would be the right thing to do for the Texas Republican Elector.

Let someone who is less judgmental vote for President-elect Donald Trump.

He could then spend that extra time reflecting on his ability to give those he deals with an opportunity to conduct business instead of swatting them down.

The Bible is a wonderful collection of 'books' ... the very inspired Word of God. For all of that, though, it is utterly silent on the qualifications for the office of President of the United States.

So, why did Sisneros run as a delegate? He knew who would be the Dem and Rep nominees.

Likely, the state Republican party has a rule that allows them to appoint a replacement.

“Not biblically qualified”?

From Article VI of the US Constitution:

“... no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.”

All electors who are not committed to voting for the party’s president elect must be purged before the EC meets. Enough of this lunacy.

Let the record show that when your country’s fate hung in the balance, YOU turned your back and walked away.
Just remember that good people don’t go to Heaven but forgiven sinners do. (Meaning that no one is perfect, everyone falls down at least once).

Jesus has never run for president. So if perfection is required to pass this guy's test, then who is qualified? Was McCain biblically qualified? What about Romney, Dole, the Bushes? Who would this guy vote for? As far as I can see, it appears that while these political gems may not use the P word, they have far less integrity than Trump. And why now are we hearing about this elector and his moral dilemma? Trump has been the Republican candidate for months. Did Hillary's democrat friends get to him with death threats?

"...not biblically qualified for office..."

Huh, wut?

I suppose this guy would not have considered Samson to be "Biblically Qualified" for the office of Judge, yet there you go - God used this flawed man (and Samson even got included in Hebrews 11 Faith's Hall of Fame).
And Trump, unlike many recent Presidents and Presidential candidates, has committed to select Supreme Court justices that take the Biblical position of being Pro-Life.
And He says He supports our Constitution - again, unlike most of our recent Presidents and Presidential candidates who treated the Constitution as a living, breathing, piece of changeable crap. The Constitution is not in the Bible, but God wants us to follow laws, not anarchy, and our Constitution is the basis of our Nation's laws.

Hopefully Trump corrects his error in not applying our laws equitably and chooses to treat Hillary like any American citizen (who violates our laws), but other than that (and sometimes having been a loud, crude bloke) - he seems a good fit for the office. Certainly better than the other choices.
