Rescue goat suffering from Anxiety Only Calms Down in Her Duck Outfit
News4 San Antonio ^ | FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 25TH 2016 | Victoria Price

Posted on 11/27/2016 2:24:16 PM PST by nickcarraway

Meet Polly, an adorable rescue goat who is blind and suffers from severe anxiety.

Her owner Leanne Lauricella rescued the baby goat and says Polly suffers from neurological problems.

Leanne said the baby goat would often run around and cry if she couldn't find her.

Her owner purchased the costume from a store for Halloween, not expecting it to have such a profound effect on her.

The duck costume helped Polly the goat go from anxious and stressed to all zen and chill.

There’s something about that duck costume that calms her.

As soon as I put it on her, she just instantly got calm. She goes into a little trance. She just closes her eyes and she’s out.

As long as they don’t confuse Eid al-Adha with Halloween it should all be cool.

Aw come on guys, my wife loves ducks and thought a goat dressed in a duck costume was too cute.

I think it’s hilarious-looking, and a funny idea to boot. Doesn’t harm anyone to put a ridiculous costume on a crippled goat, especially if it makes the goat and the owner feel good.

I have a dog that was born both deaf and blind. He gets very upset if I'm gone for any length of time. Or even just let him run around on the floor too long with out picking him up.

Apparently it’s that she was obtained from an animal rescue shelter.

Of course, when people are suffering almost any animal that doesn’t think of people as food can serve as a welcome distraction from the pain.

I have my therapy rooster to get me through the Obama administration. Since being subject to hearing a Chicken Little leftwing cock’s sickly crowing all the time, the best solution I’ve found is to drown it out with a louder, closer Barred Rock cock and a flock of hens.

A friend of mine crochets the blankets to be used for children with anxiety. The blankets are SO heavy.

Two legged and four legged creatures like warm fuzzy cuddly blankets, robes and duck costumes.

I can’t really criticize. Whenever I’m stressed out, dressing up like a duck always calms me down. Unfortunately, my next door neighbor always dresses like a rabbit, so we often end up having one of those duck season/rabbit season arguments.

So I guess the subliminal message here is a transexual one.

Just like they like to say there are gay animals, there are now going to be claims that some animals “know” they are “actually” a different species.

So the anxiety comes from its know its a duck in a goats body.

Ergo, wanting to be a different gender or what not, is perfectly “natural”.

Weighted blankets are great. I wish I knew how to sew because they are expensive.

I think it is just the sensation of the outfit might maker her feel secure.

A slow roast at around 300 degrees over a charcoal fire will also do wonders for eliminating the goat's anxiety.

I hope so. And if I did, I apologize. When animals become pets, they become family.

Not really. In the summer I aim a fan at my feet and I’m completely comfortable. In the winter I pile a super heavy blanket on top of the weighted blanket.
