We watch a lot of programs like Queen for a Day, Groucho Marx, What’s My Line, Jackie Gleason, Amos and Andy, etc. Didn’t even have a TV until the middle 1950’s and even then my mom would only allow us to watch Lawrence Welk on Saturday night.
We were too busy working, cooking, raising children, paying bills, going to church and going about daily life. Don’t remember anyone in our family or anyone we knew even talking about politics until the day President Kennedy was killed. Life was focused on an entirely different set of issues back then and everybody was busy doing more productive things.

She was at the Indy 500 this year in some official capacity, Grand Marshall, taking on the old Jim Nobors roll of singing “Back home in Indiana? Not sure. Anyway, she looked great.
Rest in peace...think about TV moms of the 60s and 70s compared to today’s TV moms... Mrs. Brady, Mrs. Cleaver or Mrs. Partridge are much more mothering... But both aren’t realistic of moms or dads...

The first time I saw it, the sound was down and I only caught the first couple seconds out of the corner of my eye. I was like WTF is THAT? All of those Snickers commercials are terrific.

Here’s the story of a lovely lady ... who had a one-night-stand with former New York mayor John Lindsay that left her with a bad case of crabs.
Florence Henderson, the golden haired actress who played Carol Brady in “The Brady Bunch,” reveals in her upcoming memoir that she had a skeevy encounter with the career pol in the 1960s.
Henderson, now 77, says she hopped in the sack with Lindsay after he put the moves on her over drinks at the Beverly Hills Hotel, Reuters reported Saturday.
“I was lonely. I knew it wasn’t the right thing to do,” writes Henderson, who was married at the time.
Henderson returned home after the romp. When she awoke the next morning, she spotted “little black things” crawling over her body.
Henderson immediately called a doctor who helped her get rid of the tiny parasitic insects also known as pubic lice.
Lindsay, ever the politician, sent Henderson flowers and an apology letter.
“Guess I learned the hard way that crabs do not discriminate but cross over all socioeconomic strata,” Henderson writes in “Life is Not a Stage,” set for publication in September.
“He must have had quite the active life. What a way to put the kibosh on a relationship.”
Lindsay, who died in 2000, was the mayor of New York from 1966 to 1973.
