AND SHE STILL PUT HER KIDS ON THAT BUS!
If I thought that the school bus driver was unsafe, my children would not have been on that bus. If I couldn’t drive them to school myself, I would have found someone who could. When I was little and in first grade, I rode the school bus and was the last child off the bus. The bus would let me off right at the corner of my house. We lived in a country area, but it was adding subdivisions. (This was in the 1950s). One day the bus driver couldn’t go all the way because the streets were being torn up on the route home. So he let me, a six year old, off the bus blocks from my house and I was left to walk home alone with a bunch of construction workers nearby. How I knew my way home I don’t know, but with the grace of God I did get home safely. Needless to say, my mother was furious. I never rode the bus again and my mother drove me or sometimes had my grandfather, drive me to school. I don’t know what happened to the bus driver.
It could be that one of her children died and two others were injured.
I would never want to be a school bus driver. Too much responsibility and the lives of other people’s children are in your hands. No thanks.
“Why would the mother still put her children on that bus with that driver, when she Knew the driver was a problem?”
That was my immediate thought also. Prayers for her heart break over the senseless loss of her child. The extra burden she will have to live with is that she knowingly still put her child on that bus.
I would home school before I put my kids on a bus driven by someone who I knew to be impaired in anyway. So not having an alternative ride doesn’t make a reasonable “excuse”.
I heard the news tonight that his tox tests came back clean. He may have been guilty of reckless driving, but he was not impaired.
He’s been accused of drinking on the job before
But the reason I posted that was because one poster immediately started claim it was marijuana with zero evidence from anywhere
Parents have already told the school that he was drinking in the past while driving
I like facts
And thank you for updating me
They had more kids on the bus than seats?!?! Good God!
Yes. Sick.
Yup. That was a real problem. I felt bad for the kid whose lap I had to sit on, I’m sure that was a real treat for him. Add to that, because of the topography of the route, we had to go up and down some steep grades and I could barely hold on. I was willing to walk the 2 miles to my house one-way on dangerous, non-sidewalked streets rather than go through that again.
Even worse, it seems ambiguous as to what happened to each of this woman's 3 kids. I guess 2 were injured and the 6-year old daughter was killed?
Just shoddy writing from start to finish...
Bunch of updates, but I don’t have time to post links. 6th child has died. No drugs or alcohol in driver. Driver was off designated route.
