The Tigers won the m1932 Texas High School Championship when there was just one playing the Fort Worth Masonic Home Might Mites to a 0 to 0 tie, yet Corsicana was awarded the Title on penetrations 3 - 0. A penetration, you young whippersnappers, was moving the ball past the opponent's 20 yard line.
Wilson moved on to Southern Methodist in Dallas to play in the classic game that decided who went to the Rose Bowl from the Southwest Conference in 1935. It was Against TCU with Slingin’ Sammy Baugh. SMU won it, 20—14, with a stunning 50-yard touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter from Bob Finley to Wilson, who made a leaping, diving catch in the end zone.
