Calexit: Leftists File Papers to Secede, Form New Confederacy(bye felicia)

A group of left-wing Californians, frustrated with the recent election of Donald J. Trump as the 45th President of the United States, has filed an application to put a secession referendum — “Calexit” — on the 2018 ballot.

The East Bay Times reports that the group, called Yes California, intends to circumvent the U.S. Congress:

A “yes” vote would trigger a special election the following March in which residents would decide if “California should become a free, sovereign and independent country.”

Another “yes” vote would require the governor of the newly minted “Republic of California” to apply to the United Nations for membership.

a better idea would be to ask the other states to vote on kicking California out.

After the overwhelming “YES” vote....

besides, it’s not like there are that many Americans left in this state anyway.

A double bonus. No more U.S. tax dollars to calibfornia or to the u.n

No more tax dollars from California, either. I think that would be a net win for them.

I will do everything in my power to see that CA secedes if they want to. Speak for yourself. Yo are a tiny minority. So how much blood is worth dragging a state back into the union?

Good, give Trump a perfectly legal reason to send in the troops and kick some lefty arse, normally the military can't be used on US Soil, but in case of an insurrection....

If your lots are in fact unbuildable and worthless, gift them to the municipality or county as “open space”! Then take a tax write off on them for their new “open space” value.

Let ‘em go and then take Puerto Rico as the new 50th state. The welfare burden would probably be lighter.

That’s a solution that had not been suggested before. I wonder if the County would take them?

Just think what it would mean for us if the Dems have 55 electoral votes less each presidential election. The country would lunge to the right. If only it would really happen.

I wonder if we can have an exchange program where the remaining CA conservatives can move to NV, AZ, and CO to shore up those states, while the commies in Seattle and Portland move to the San Francisco Bay area, liberating WA and OR.

No. Why let immigrants, illegals and drug addled hippies make that decision?

A better idea . . .just kick them out to somewhere wher they can all sing Kumbaya together and keep The Formerly Greatest State of California in the Union

Make California Great Again

Better idea...

File papers for those who hate America to denounce their citizenship and go elsewhere.

If they want to secede, I’d be all in favor of it. Just don’t let them back in if they do. Ever.

California seceding is not as simple as a bunch of leftist loons think. They cand just vote their way out of the Union.

Four years after the Civil War, the “Texas v. White” Supreme Court ruling of 1869 established that no state can ever secede from the union without the unanimous consent of all other states.

Getting 49 states to approve of the secession will be difficult at best.
